Q: Why are unassigned driving events (and other events) showing up on the logs of multiple drivers?

A: The lines you see highlighted in pink are unassigned driving events. Someone was moving the truck without being logged in. The reason these events are showing up on the logs for both drivers is because the FMCSA mandates that events from all vehicles that a driver has logged into over the past 8 days must be shown on the driver’s logs. These events include unassigned driving, diagnostic events and unit malfunctions.

Keep in mind that Events (which are indicated via italics) are not Statuses, and will not affect the driver’s graph. If, however, the unassigned driving events are accepted by the driver, the events will then become statuses which will be visible on the graph.

The relevant FMCSA articles are 4.8.2.1.2, 4.8.2.1.3, 4.8.2.1.4, 4.8.2.1.5, and 4.8.2.1.7.
