Dan,

Thank you for your interest in the DriverTech DT4000 ELD solution.  I have attached materials which will give you the more detailed information.  Below just a brief list highlighting some of the features and capabilities that make us the biggest bang for the buck in the  ELD marketplace.

  • Forward Facing Video Event Recorder-  Triggers off the sudden deceleration (deceleration of 8 MPH or more within 1 second) as detected by your truck’s ECM- recording ten seconds before the braking event and ten seconds after the braking event are recorded providing insight into what caused the hard braking maneuver.  This will also trigger off collisions- providing the video evidence your drivers need to protect themselves against false claims.  This feature is offered by several competitive systems as a very costly add on.  DriverTech provides this in the DT 4000 core offering providing ‘sleep insurance’- knowing your fleet has video evidence in the event of a collision.  In the likely event the non-professional driver caused the collision, instant exoneration.  In the unfortunate event it is your driver’s fault- you can aggressively settle saving you thousands in court costs and unnecessary publicity.
  • Fully compliant ELD with the ability to update software over the air as needed to stay within FMCSA compliance in response to future rule changes.  DriverTech HOS solution currently powers over 40,000 trucks.
  • Plug and play installation- Unit (includes CPU and 7” display all-in-one enclosure)  plugs into your JBUS connection-  and display secures to dash with 4 screws- 20 minutes and driver and freight are ready to roll. Unit is encased with polycarbonate plastic- the most durable on the market- harkening back to DriverTech’s origin as a provider of mobile communication equipment to the U.S. Army.  This is why DriverTech proudly offers a 3 year warranty at no additional cost while competitors charge $5-$6 per month for extended warranties past one year.
  • DriverTech DT 4000 is designed, engineered and manufactured with pride in the USA.  Customer support calls will be  answered and executed by a Driver Tech Customer Success Specialist in the United States
  • Powerful Intel-based computing capabilities.  Also Supports Android portable devices enabling workflow to be completed by a driver outside the cab.  DT4000 supports both printing and scanning functions in cab.
  • Two-way store and forward messaging allows dispatch to provide load information to the driver with Read Receipts and no message loss in the event of a cellular outage.  Ability to send attachments such as detailed maps, proof of insurance certifications or medical cards. Integrates with third party Fleet Management Software products utilizing an extensive API (Applications Programs Interface) library.  Messages can be read using text to speech while the truck is in motion.
  • Compliant with mode control regulations (SAE J2571) mandating that the ELD locks down any application which could distract driver during ‘Driving’ status- a feature ‘BYOD’ Bring Your Own Device based solutions are not able to do. Consumer tablet and phone based systems cannot stop the driver from watching a movie on his company-issued tablet as he drives your truck down the road.
  • Easy to use truck specific navigation.  Destinations can be sent to the driver by dispatch.  Driver clicks on the destination and navigation will route driver without the driver needing to re enter the address from the message- greatly reducing the chance for human error and the wasted miles that may result.
  • DT 4000 with Video Event Recorder-  $799   Monthly service $40  and service includes the offload and delivery of video content.  No need to retrieve thumb drives or have driver interact with the camera.  Video clips are accessible along with all other reports and mapping via DriverTech Fleetwatcher web portal.
