Notification of Upcoming Change to Prohibit Editing Hos Drive Time

In response to guidance from the FMCSA, DriverTech is introducing an update to the way driving detected statuses are managed within the FleetWatcher portal.

Managers are no longer be able to edit automatically recorded drive and the Driving statuses will be grayed out when the status has been selected for editing.
Managers will retain the ability to add or change a remark that has been entered to provide details for driving statuses that are created erroneously. Enforcement inspectors are trained to watch for and take into account these remarks when auditing a driver's log.

These changes will be made active soon. ** Watch this space for updates; we will give at least a two week notice **

Roadside Audit Enforcement View

If a DOT Officer asks you if you can show your screen outside of your cab, the answer is yes!
You can use any smart device’s screen (cell phone, tablet, laptop) as your ELD display screen, via Enforcement View, so that it can be visible outside of the cab.

From your main HOS screen, go to Options, Enforcement View, and then “Learn how to send logs to a mobile device that can be handed to enforcement”
Follow the on-screen instructions and the smart device is now your ELD display screen.

NOTE: This is for DT4000 Rev 7 devices ONLY and employs the same concept as a BYOD provider in that the driver can use any smart device (smart phone, laptop, tablet) as the Driver’s ELD Display Screen.
What is different about the DriverTech Advanced solutions, DT4000 or DT1000, that you have is we also supply a screen in the cab to directly communicate with the ELD software.

Replaced set 'Manual VIN' checkbox to prevent JBUS from updating VIN
- Checkbox has been removed that prevented updating of VIN by Vehicle's JBUS.
- Instead, if user updates the VIN manually via web portal the Manual VIN flag will be set automatically indicating that the VIN was entered manually.
- BUT, if the vehicle's JBUS reports a VALID VIN it will replace the manually entered VIN.
NEW report: Vehicle Malfunctions (see "Help Doc: Vehicle Malfunctions")

- Provides summary and detail when the ELD records a vehicle malfunction as outlined in FMCSA ELD rules set.

RELEASE PATCHES:
- v6.10.06 - 03/17/2020: Updated HOS LOG PDF to include warning that its is not for Enforcement Use to instruct and protect Drivers from officers coercing them into providing HOS Log Detail without using Standard Output.
  The warning appears as such at the top of each page:

Limitations Added to Editing of Driving Detected Statuses
- ELD Mandate prohibits changing of driving that has been detected by the ECM. (see FAQ: Editing and Annotations, Question 10)
- Driving Detected statuses can be edited to other Driving statuses. (i.e., Yard Move & Personal Use)
Manager’s Ability to Certify RODs has been removed
- Managers are prohibited from certifying a driver's log. (see FAQ: Harassment, Question 3 and FAQ: Editing and Annotations, Question 8)
- Drivers away from their TruckPC can certify logs from the Driver Portal.
Unassigned Driving Enhancement (see FAQ: “Unidentified Driving Time”)

- Managers can now suggest assignment of unassigned Driving Detected to drivers. The driver will need to accept or reject the driving from the ELD and certify.
New Reports Added:
- Yard Move: Yard Move segments up to last 6 months.
- Personal Use: Personal Use Segments up to last 6 months.
- Log Edit History: Edits made up to last 6 months.

ELD/AOBRD Assignment via Equipment Type Setting
